Plastics are poor conductor of heat and electricity:They do not conduct heat or electricity,so they be used as insulators. ... The handles of screw drivers used by electricians are also made of plastic because it is an electrical insulator.

anjudhir: some more uses
anjudhir: can you answer
Nagavenin: still u want

Nagavenin: Conductor: Material which allows the flow of current to pass through without any hinderance is known as conductor or a good conductor. Generally, all metals are conductors.

Insulator: Material which does not allows the flow to current to pass through is known as an insulator or you say a bad conductor. Non-metals are generally insulators.

Plastics are poor conductor of heat and electricity and as they do not conduct heat or electricity,so they are used as insulators. The handles of screw drivers used by electricians are made of plastic. The handles of pressure cooker and many more aluminium utensils are made of plastic. The ice stands are made of plastic so that the chilled temperature is not felt by the hands.
