Write steps to split the cell content in multiple lines when the content are bigger than column width
Answers
Answer:Sometimes, when the text in the columns is so much that the column would look wider than the other columns, which results in a lot of wasted space. Therefore, it is advisable to split the cell content into multiple lines within a single cell.
There are 2 ways to do this:
Method 1:
(i) Select the cells where the content should appear.
(ii) Enter the first line of the data
(iii) Press ALT + ENTER
(iv) Enter the second line
(v) Press ALT + ENTER, if there are any more additional lines to follow.
When the above method is used, the text will be wrapped in the Excel and the row height of each cell in which the ALT + ENTER command is used will also be adjusted.
Another method is to just select the cells in which the text should be wrapped, go to ‘Format’ option in the menu, select ‘Cells’, and then click on the ‘Alignment’ tab, enable the ‘Wrap Text’ option and click ‘OK’.
