I cannot marry her, she would kill me within a week. I thought to myself all the while my parents conversed with this girl who was a mere stranger. I never understood the concept of arranged marriages. I had been born and brought up in London, but my parents had always been traditional at heart. They believed that it was their duty to select a girl for me, even though i was a full grown man, independent and self made, yet my modern parents were old schooled.
I looked at the girl, thinking about how she would laugh at my face while stabbing me in the night with a knife, and my slumber would lead me to an eternal sleep.
My mother called me and i snapped out of it, she told me to take the girl out and converse with her for a bit. I thought to myself, "like that's going to help".
However, as i stepped aside for a chat with her. The girl spoke to me, "don't you remember me?, you dated my cousin Arya for a month and then dumped her."
I looked at her face and her expression of disapproval, thinking to myself, "phew! at least i dodged this one."
