The human brain is well protected in the bony box called cranium of the skull. it is soft, whitish, large size and slightly flattened. the brain is about 1300-1400 gm in weight and 1300-1500 c.c. in volume. the brain develops to its full size at the age of six years and contain about 30,000 milion neuron. it can be divided into different part as follows:

1) forebrain

2)midbrain

3)hindbrain

function are as follows :

1) neuromuscular activities are regulated by the cerellum

2) pons control the consciousness of the brain

3) the cerebrum controls the voluntary activities
