Tense suggest the action of the time. It basically tells when actually the activity occured.

Basically there are three types of tense-

1. Past Tense - The things that have happened already. For E.g - It rained yesterday

2. Present Tense - The things that are happening now. For E.g - The children are playing football

3. Future Tense - The things that will happen in the future e.g I will go to Amritsar tomorrow.

Future Types

Past Indefinite - did + first form of verb - I did my breakfast yesterday

Past Continuous - was, were + ing + third form of verb - I was dancing in the evening

Past Perfect - Had + third form of verb - I had a bad night

Past Perfect Continuous - Had + Been + ing + third form of verb - He had been going to gym from last 1 year

Similarly we have tenses types for present and future
