There was an Eid fair in Rasheed’s village. The tradesmen sold all kinds of goods in the fair.
Rasheed went to see the fair with his uncle and a servant. A few friends of uncle met there and took him with them.
Rasheed’s uncle asked him to look around the fair with the servant till he came back. Uncle warned him not to buy anything in his absence. Rasheed promised to follow his instructions.
Rasheed and the servant roamed in the fair and saw the Lucky Shop.
The shopkeeper of the Lucky Shop wanted everybody to try their luck. The customer had to pay 50 paise and pick up 6 discs. He had to add the numbers on the discs and find the total to get marked article as a prize.
Rasheed saw an old man won a beautiful clock but he did not want it. The shopkeeper bought the clock for 15 rupees.
In the same way a small boy got a comb but sold it back in 25 paise. In other trials he won a fountain pen, a wrist watch and a table lamp and returned with a smile.
Rasheed also got encouraged and started playing the game. Paying 50 paise he got two pencils. The shopkeeper bought them back in 25 paise. He tried second time and got bottle of ink and sold it back in 25 paise. In this way, he kept on trying his luck and got a trifle every time. At last, he lost his every penny. The people around him were laughing at his bad luck.
They returned from there and waited for uncle. The uncle understood that Rasheed was upset. Rasheed told him about his bad luck in the game.
The uncle explained to Rasheed that it is nothing as good luck or bad luck. The winners were friends of the shopkeeper. They were playing tricks to tempt him to try his luck. Such shopkeepers play tricks on innocent people to take their money.
Uncle advised Rasheed to forget about all that and not to tell anybody of his bad luck and his foolishness.
