A Tense is a form of a verb that is used to show the time of an action ,i.e., when an action happened.

There are 3 types of tense.

Present Tense
Past Tense
Future Tense

Each tense is divided into 4 types sub tense.

Present Tense


1. Present Simple Tense => Ist Form of verb + s/es

2. Present Continuous Tense => Is/Am/Are + Ist Form of verb + ing

3. Present Prefect Tense => Has/Have + IIIrd Form of verb

4. Present Prefect Continuous Tense => Has/Have Been + Ist Form of verb + ing

Past Tense


1. Past Simple Tense => IInd Form of verb

2. Past Continuous Tense => Was/Were + Ist Form of verb + ing

3. Past Perfect Tense => Had + IIIrd Form of verb

4. Past Perfect Continuous Tense => Had Been + Ist Form of verb + ing

Future Tense

1. Future Indefinite Tense => Will/Shall + Ist Form of verb

2. Future Continuous Tense => Will be + Ist Form of verb + ing

3. Future Perfect Tense => Will Have + IIIrd Formof verb

4.Future Perfect Continuous Tense => Will Have Been + Ist Form of verb+ ing
