The figures which have three dimensions are called 3D shapes. Example cube, cuboid, cylinder, etc.
The figures which have two dimensions are called 2D shapes.
Example square, rectangle, circle, etc.

2d shapes are the flat shapes, it is also called 2 dimentional shape because it has only 2 dimensions that is length and width.

example:- square, rectangle, triangle, trapezium, rhombus, circle etc.

3d shapes also can be referred as 3 dimentional shape.

example:- cube, cuboid, sphere, cylinder,cone etc.
