Aims of the UN

The United Nation was mainly formed to save the world from the devastating effects of war. So, the main aim of the UN is to keep world peace by stopping war and conflict.

The UN sends its peace-keeping force to Nations where there are war. The peace-keeping Force is an Army of soldiers from the member countries of the UN.

The other main aims of UN are listed below :

The UN makes sure that all countries develop friendly relationship with each other.

It helps the countries work together to improve the lives of the poor, uneducated and sick people.

It takes care of the basic human rights and freedom.

Rights to education, right to get a job and a fair salary, right to be treated as equals and right to not be harmed by other are some of the basic human rights.

The aims and principles of the UN have been explained in a document called the Atlantic Charter.
