given the diameter of the cylindrical container is 14cm. therefore radius is = 14/2 = 7cm
ATQ,
the label is placed with leaving 2cm from top and 2cm from top.
height of the cylindrical container is 20cm. therefore height of the label will be = 20 - ( 2 + 2 )
= 20 - 4
= 16cm
hence, area of the label = 2πrh
= 2 × 22/7 × 7 × 16
= 44 × 16
= 704cm²
