Hey!

Here, first term should be 5 and common difference should be 3.

Let's taken first term as 'a' and common difference as 'd'

Let's form the algebraic expression to make it easier:-

Xn = dn + b

b means (a - d or first term - common difference) and Xn means algebraic expression

So,

Xn = 3n + (5-3)

Xn = 3n + 2

The algebraic expression is 3n + 2

To find the terms of the sequence let's put the number 1, 2, 3 and 4 to find first four terms of this sequence.

The terms will be:-

First term= 3 x 2 + 2 = 5

2nd term = 3 x 2 +2 = 8

3rd term = 3 x 3 + 2= 11

4th term = 3x 4 + 2= 14

So, here's the Arithmetic sequence:-

5, 8, 11, 14 and so on.

There's another way to do this as well.

Just write 5 at first and since the common difference is 3, add 3 to 5 then add 3 to the number obtained and so on. Like this:-

5

5+3 = 8

8 + 3 = 11

11 + 3 = 14

Here also the arithmetic sequence would be:-

5 , 8, 11, 14.
