ANSWER

The burning of coal in insufficient supply of oxygen forms Carbon monoxide, CO, while carbon dioxide (CO2) is formed if sufficient oxygen is present.

The chemical equation is

C+ O2--------) CO2 + Heat +light

Exothermic Reaction occurs.

hope it helps ☺️

Combustion Of Coal:

Coal (C) burns in air to form carbon dioxide gas.

C(s) + O2(g) CO2(g)

This is an example of combination reaction.
