Generally the egg shells are made up of special type of the fibres and tissues thus it get simply gets damage by the hydrochloric acid..!

Now here is the reaction of dilute sulphuric acid with sodium carbonate.

dil.H2SO4(aq) + Na2CO3(s) ——>

Na2SO4(aq) + H2O(l) + CO2(g)

Now here is a reaction of the copper oxide with the hydrochloric acid

CuO(s) + Dil.2HCl(aq) ——>

CuCl2(aq) + H2O(l)

In the reaction of the copper oxide and dilute hydrochloric acid...

One molecule of copper oxide reacts with 2 molecule of dilute hydrochloric acid it gives one molecule of copper chloride and one molecule of H2O

In this reaction the copper oxide is reduced by the reductant chlorine (Cl)..

Hope this helps you...
