The sodium would react with the hydrochloric acid giving Na+ and Cl- ions, and hydrogen gas. Since hydrochloric acid is normally found in an aqueous solution, the sodium would also likely react with the water to form hydrogen, sodium hydroxide, and a lot of heat.
