Evelyn Elizabeth Ann Glennie (born 1965) is an acclaimed percussionist from Aberdeenshire in Scotland. Since the age of 11, she has been totally deaf. She is supposed to have taught herself, how to register sounds using other parts of her body. She mostly plays barefoot at her concerts to 'feel' the music better.

Evelyn Glennie was a well determined and hardworking girl. When she was 11, she gradually lost her hearing capabilities. But she never gave up and with her rock strong will power will power she overcame the nature's obstacle. She took up music and captured most of the top awards at the Royal Academy.
