Mr Herroit the veterinary surgeon was a caring man who looked after his patients.This can be seen as how he was worried upon noticing Tricki's deteriorating health.He was smart as he knew what was the problem with Tricki upon looking at him and he knew the best treatment for him (Tricki).Dr James Herriot was practical and pragmatic. He doesn’t give any medical treatment to the dog. He feeds the dog with only water.
