Answer:

Gregory Kuzmich of Anton Chekov's short story "The Confession" is a man of good graces and an easy going guy who seems unable to reject anyone or their requests.

Explanation:

The main character of Anton Chekov's short story The Confession is Gregory Kuzmich, who had recently been promoted to the rank of a cashier. Before his promotion, no one seems to care a dime for him but after the said promotion, everyone came running for his graces, including his brother with whom he had a falling out and hadn't been seeing each other eye to eye. within a month, he got himself a wife and then he got so many so called friends and relatives. But the fame stopped when the rumor started about his source of income. No one seems to be interested in being connected to him.

By the way the story is narrated, the narrator/ Gregory seems to be the type of person who is easy to approach and doesn't frequently say no. He even accepted whatever is being asked of him. He just had no power and have to say yes to everything to have friends and a social life. But, somehow he also seems to see through the deceit of the people who had pretended to be his friends when he was rich. Quite hilarious that he call on the people to shout out the news of his arrest, and even asked them to throw stones at him but added "not everyone" as that might kill him.
