GEORGE
George was a bank clerk who was rather an introvert. He is the best person as he is very helpful. His friends at bank thought the only work he does was to sleep. He had some knowledge of the ways of the world and was the one to give sensible advice and suggestions such as the articles that should be taken along on the trip, clothes, food etc. He is calmer and less aggressive than Harris. He did not appear to have much sense of style. He did not like spending much thought on travel matters as he remarked that "anything that was broken, it was broken".He loved laughing at others but did not enjoy much when anyone turned the joke on him. He was not very quick-witted and dependent on others to lead him. He had some knowledge of cooking is evident from the fact that he made a healthy Irish Stew.
JEROME- Jerome is a funny man taking everything as a joke. He is unpractical and always tries to do the thing as is asked. He loves food and hates work. He is the author of this novel.
HARRIS- Harris is a vain fellow who pretends to be extremely hard working but usually pushes off the burden on other people. He is outspoken and does not hesitate to tell his friends what he thinks of them even if it is unpleasant. He is quite short tempered and it is best to leave him with his anger rather than try and talk to him about that. He would not mind a drink at ant time of the day and enjoys the company of his friends.
