All reptiles have a backbone which means they are vertebrates. All reptiles produce eggs. Most reptiles lay hard shelled eggs., but if you give birth to live young..... reptiles are ectothermic or cold blooded, which means they cannot control their own body temperature.......

Characteristics of reptiles :

  • These are having dry and rough skin.

  • These are having scales.

  • These are having lungs for respiration.

  • Heart is 3 chambered and incomplete, exception - crocodile is having 4 chambered heart.

  • Digestive system is complete.

  • Excretion is done using kidneys

  • Oviparous and covered by CaCO3 ( calcium carbonate ) shelled egg.

  • Type of fertilization - internal fertilization.

  • These are cold blooded.
