Phylum porifera :

Some Poriferas such as Sycon, Spongilla and Leucosolenia.

Poriferans are aquatic animals with pores.

Most sponges obtained food and oxygen and also remove waste material through constant water flow in their bodies.

They do not move from one place to another most of them remain fixed to the floor of the sea.

They have a large number of openings for spores in their body water containing oxygen and food enters the body cavity through this spores.

There is also a large pore at the top from where the water passes out.

Sponges are mostly found in seawater, a few are found in freshwater.
