Corporal Turnbull had come to give a lecture on hand-grenade. He'd come back from Dunkirk (France). Corporal Turnbull was a man of serious nature. He was strong, sturdy and a man of principle. He was considered to be so tough one could hammer nails into him without noticing him. He was tough, serious and even revenge full. He didn't take private quelch's interruption lightly and thus took a revenge by nominating him for the permanent cookhouse duties.
