The project method is a modern method of teaching and has various, the idea being that you let students conduct activities in a 'natural environment' However, like everything else, the system has it's advantages and limitations
The advantages:
1. Taking kids beyond classroom provides them with a more natural and playful way to learn. Classrooms can get boring
2. Provides a chance for investigating learning. Let's each child find a particular problem and then find a solution to it. Helping them learn something they have an interest in
3. It's a scientific approach with practical learning with a model of scientific inquiry
4. It also helps to improve a child's social skills through more group projects
Limitations:
1. The teaching method does not always lead to better school grades, due to being less traditional and academic.
2. While the learning style is very engaging, students hardly have any way to prepare early on. They can't really pick up a book and prepare for this in the long run
3. Every teacher is not prepared to teach in this style and they might require proper training
4. Sometimes, assessing each student on how they performed on activities can be challenging. NO feed back means students don't know how they did and makes them more confused
5. It is not always relevant or applicable in different circumstances. It might be good for elementary school but might not have much use in College or even High School
