Figuring out how to peruse and compose is an essential ability that shockingly not all youngsters in the world learn adequately. In a period when societal change puts expanding demands on people's capability in utilizing composed language, it is essential that schools can educate such aptitudes to all children.

By encompassing your child with books and perusing the material, both around the house and in their room, your child will be more disposed to lift them up and get ingested in the pages.

Children regularly duplicate the conduct of their parents. In this way, in the event that they see you routinely grabbing a book, your child might probably do likewise.

Giving your child an abundance of books doesn't need to mean spending a fortune at the bookshop.

Characteristics of story book for reading skill development

Bacon said, “Reading maketh a full man; writing an exact man, and conference a ready man.” Reading is an essential basic skill building activity. One’s language fluency is determined by the quality of reading. Besides, vocabulary enrichment, ideas collection, familiarization with different types of writing formats, speaking fluency, etc, all depend upon reading.

Developing a healthy reading habit among all children is one of the many objectives of education. The kinds of books that a child gets to read play a crucial role in developing reading habit among children. If we look at the statistics of books sold and bought all across the world it has been found that the best seller books have in them everything that is required to encourage reading. Take for example Harry Potter series; these books have absorbing plot, swashbuckling imaginary events, charismatic characters, magic, and the time-old theme of war between the good and the evil. The vocabulary, diction, and sentence structures used in the books are not only wonderfully spontaneous, but simple also.

So while selecting story books for children the following things should be kept in mind:

1.     They should be according to the level of the children. Age specific books with age specific themes.

2.     They should be interesting in layout, plot, and not very voluminous.

3.     Simple, clear, colorful, with moral lessons.

They should be humorous, lively, and great.
