Answer:

The meaning of excretion is most easily understood in the context of vertebrate physiology. The animal swallows food (ingestion). In the stomach and intestine some of the food is broken down into soluble products (digestion) that are absorbed into the body (assimilation). In the body these soluble products undergo further chemical change (metabolism); some are used by the body for growth, but most provide energy for the various activities of the body. Metabolism involves the uptake of oxygen and the elimination of carbon dioxide in the lungs (respiration). Besides carbon dioxide, compounds of nitrogen arise from metabolism and are eliminated, chiefly by the kidney, in the urine (excretion). Food not digested is eliminated through the anus (defecation).

Characteristics of the excretory fluid of human being:

  • Removal of the toxic and unwanted wastes from our body is called excretion. The main 2 wastes from the body are Carbon dioxide and Urea.
  • This system in humans contains kidneys and bladder.
  • The kidneys clears urea and other unwanted products from blood which are added to urine in the bladder itself.
  • Organs such as the liver filters toxins but put its wastes back to blood.
  • Kidneys do the job to filter the blood, so toxic substances don't accumulate in the body.
  • This  process of ultra filtration creates glomerular filtrates from the blood.
  • Water and small molecules and the proteins which are very small into the lumen of Bowman’s capsule.
  • Liver detoxifies the body, especially the nitrogenous wastes. It plays host of biochemical processes which creates ammonia from the amino acids.
