Characteristics of this division of bryophyta :-

1. This plant basically look like thallus, cup shape.

3. This plant usually grows in moist shaded area in hills.
4. They reproduce both sexually and asexually .
5. Watter is very much important for their sexual reproduction .
6. They do not have true root stem or leaf they possess stem-like , root- like , leaf- like structure.
7. Mosses alone with leeches are the first organisation in this colony.
8. Liverworts are also called lower bryophyta .
9. Mosses are called higher bryophyta.
10. They usually have spores in them.
