There are total 4 charechteristics of  p-block elements are :-

• The last group of p-block elements, namely, the 18th group is the family of noble/inert gases. These have closed valance shells and therefore very low chemical reactivity.
• Elements of group 17 and 16 include reactive non-metals.
• The electron gain enthalpies being highly negative, they gain one or two electrons redily and form anions.
• The non-metallic charecter increases left to right and decreses down a group.
