when dilute acids react with metals it always produces hydrogen gas
for example,
when dilute sulphuric acid react with metals
H2SO4+Mg -- MgSO4 + H2
HNO3+Na -- NaNO3+H2
since when non metals react with dilute acids the reaction never occurred because they accept electrons so acid do not donate their hydrogen ions so the reaction never occurred .
