Write the chemical equation when:

i) Lead nitrate is heated to produce lead monoxide ,gaseous nitrogen dioxide and oxygen is
formed

ii) Potassium chlorate (KCIO3) on heating forms potassium chloride and oxygen.

Answer:

ok

Explanation:

1.When lead nitrate is heated, it breaks down into lead monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and oxygen. 2Pb(NO3)2→2PbO+4NO2+O2.

2.2KClO(s)→2KCl(s)+3O  2 (g).

2.2 molecules of Potassium chlorate (KClO3 ) on heating form 2 molecules of potassium chloride and  3 molecules of oxygen.2.2KClO(s)→2KCl(s)+3O  2 (g).

3.Magnesium reacts with hydrochloric acid according to the equation: Mg(s) + 2 HCl(aq) --> MgCl 2(aq) + H 2(g) This demonstration can be used to illustrate the characteristic reaction of metals with acid, a single replacement reaction, or to demonstrate the generation of hydrogen gas.
