magnesium chloride =Mgcl2

calcium carbonate=CaCo3

calcium oxide=Cao

aluminium chloride=Alcl3

anisha1764: hey...Mg has valency 2 while chlorine has 1 so you also know that valency exchanges when writing a chemical formula so..the valency 1 of cl goes to Mg and valency 2 of Mg goes to cl and hence it changes into Mgcl2
