The chemical name of gypsum is calcium sulphate which is also known as Plaster of Paris.

The chemical formulae for the above mentioned are CaSo4. Half H20 and the reaction is

2(CaS04.2H20)_2(CaS04). H20 + 3H20.

It must also be mentioned that the reaction is

2 (CaSo4.2H20)_2 (CaSo4.2H20)_ 2( CaSo4).H20 = 3H20

Answer :

Step by step explanation: Calcium sulphate dihydrate; CaSO4.2H2O CaSO4.2H2O+373K → CaSO4.1/2H2O+1 1/2 H2O CaSO4.2H2O-Gypsum CaSO4.1/2H2O- plaster of paris

Detailed Answer: Chemical name of the gypsum-Calcium sulphate dihydrate Chemical formula of gypsum- CaSO4.2H2O When Gypsum is heated at 373 K it will plaster of paris and water. CaSO4.2H2O+373K → CaSO4.1/2H2O+1 1/2 H2O
