Hey dear,

● Lassaigne's test -

- aka sodium fusion test.

- It is used in elemental analysis for the qualitative determination of the presence of foreign elements in organic compound.

- This can be used to detect halogens, nitrogen, and sulphur, in an organic compound.

● Lassaigne's test for nitrogen -

- Lassaigne test for detection on nitrogen gives blue colored iron complex.

6NaCN + FeSO4 ---> Na4[Fe(CN)6] + Na2SO4

Na4[Fe(CN)6] + 2Fe2(SO4)3 ---> Fe4[Fe(CN)6]3 + Na2SO4

Hope this helps...
