amino acid has a zwitter ion structure i.e it has both negative and positive charge on a same molecule.
Nucleic acids are biomolecules made up of nucleotides.
components of nucleic acid are: a nitrogenous base, pentose sugar and phosphate group.
all the above three components form a nucleotide which are further joined to form nucleic acid whereas nitrogenous base and pentose sugar together forms nucleoside.
nucleoside + phosphate grp = nucleotide
Nitrogenous base: they are of two types:
purines and pyrimidines
Purines:it they are nitrogenous bases containing a purine ring. eg. adenine and guanine.
Pyrimidines: they are nitrogenous bases containing pyrimidine ring. eg. thymine, cytosine and uracil( in RNA in place of thymine).
pentose sugar: deoxyribose is the sugar present in DNA whereas RNA has ribose sugar.
