Palampur is a progressive village located in the Kangra Valley in the state of Himachal Pradesh.Some of its prominent features are:
1.Farming is the main activity here.All land here is utilised for cultivation.The system of multiple cropping is followed here.The farmers use the modern methods of farming and use HYV seeds to increase the yields..The irrigation system is well developed.Most of the tubewells are run by electricity. It helps to irrigate much larger areas of land effectively and grow more than one crop in a year.It has a well developed transportation system also.Many kinds of vehicles operate in the village.It is well connected with the nearby towns.Palampur has basic educational provisions for the children.It has 2 primary schools and one high school..It also has the basic medical facilities with primary health centre run by the government and one private dispensary.Apart from farming, many other small scale activities like dairy farming,shop-keeping,trading etc are also growing here which provides employment avenues for the youths.
