The most common LPG gases include propane, butane(nbutane) and isobutane (i-butane) as well as mixture of these gases. Other that also fall under the LPG level including ethane, ethylene, prophylene, butylene, and isobutylene as well as mixture of these gases. Thankyou

Propane is the main combustible component of LPG.
- Liquefied petroleum gas or LPG is a fuel mainly used in cooking and in automobiles and heating devices.
- It is a flammable mixture comprising hydrocarbons; propane, butane, propylene, butylene, and isobutane.
- Propane is the main combustible component while the other gases are present in extremely low quantities.
Even though propane and butane are the main components in LPG, propane is preferred over butane because of the following reasons;
- The boiling point of propane is lower than butane, this makes it possible for propane to get easily converted from liquid to gas even during very cold climates.
- In liquid form, propane exerts higher pressure than butane when stored in the cylinder. This makes it easier to store them outside.
- Propane can thus be safely stored for a longer time than butane.
