There are many gases in the atmosphere . These gases vary in their amount . Some of the major gases are Nitrogen (78%) , Oxygen (21%) , Carbon dioxide (0.037%) , Argon (0.9%) and other gases such as xenon , neon , hydrogen , helium, etc.
