Diffusion is the process of intermixing of particles of solid, liquid or gas on their own. This happens due to the movement of the particles. For ex., hydrogen and nitrogen gas diffuse in air and forms a homogeneous mixture.

Intermixing of on substance with another substance due to continuous movement of their particles is known as diffusion .
Rate of diffusion in solid in vey much less , in liquid rate is quite more than in solid , in gas rate is very much high. hence,Rate of diffusion Vis directly proportional to the temperature of the substance.
