CONCLUSION

The Maurya were the first family to unify India. The Mauryas created their empire through series of wars and conquest. After one brutal battle Ashoka decided to stop violence and follow the Buddha's ways. He used his wise edicts to keep them in order. Those edicts were: Buddhist Values, General Welfare, Justice, and Security. Ashoka wrote these edicts on pillars, walls, and rocks. The pillars were 40-50 feet high and they polished them till they were so shiny, it was like glass.
