Write the conclusions drawn by Rutherford when he observed the following. (i) Most of the a-particles passing straight through the gold foil. (ii) Some a-particles getting deflected from their path. (iii) Very small fraction of a-particles getting deflected by 180°.

a. Most of the space in the atom is empty as most of the particle passes away through the gold foil.
b. A few positively charged a particles were deflected.the positive charge has to be concentrated in a very small volume ..

c. The volume occupied by nucleus is negligible small as compared to the total volume of the atom ..
