question is

The sum of the digits of atwo digit number is 12. If the new number formed by reversing the digits is greater than the original number by 54,find the original number. Check your solution.

Let the digit in one's place be X.

so.digit in tens place = (12-X).

Original number = 10(12-X)+X

= 120-9X.

Reversing it's digit = 10X+12-X

= 9X+12.

According to question,

9X+12-(120-9X)=54

=> 9X+12-120+9X=54

=> 18X-108=54

=> 18X=54+108

=> 18X=162

X= 162/8=9.

So,digit in one's place=9.

digit in tens place=12-X

= 12-9=3.

Original number = (3×10+9)

= 30+9=39.

Check: Sum of digits =12

3+9=12.

checked.
