write the condition for a rational number which can have a terminating decimal expansion

if any rational number have to be terminating decimal expansion ,then its denominator is of the form of 2n5m { 2 to the power n or 5 to the power m}

exmaples:- 23/200 =23/2
×2×2×5×5=0.115

now here we see that the denominator is of the form 2 to the power 3× 5 to the power 2.so it terminating decimal expansion
