Answer:

The first olympic games were held in olympia greece in 776 BC and were dedicated to god zeus. At first there was just one event, a sprint, running by men. A wreath of olive branches was placed on the head of the winner. Women were not allowed to take part in the games. The games were held every four years, and the time between them was called an olympiad. More sports, were added to the games as time goes by, including chariot races, wrestling, discus throwing and javelin. The greeks held the games for 1170 years, until they were banned by the Byzantine Empire Theodosius II in AD 394. They were revived in 1896.

EXPLANATION:

1) Were held: Past tense, we use this because the phase is also in past tense.

2) Running: This is correct word, and also means doing something continuously and thus as per the phases we take this in last tense.

3) Was placed: Something which is already kept and also refers past tense.

4) Allowed: Something which was given permit or permission to do so, already happened.

5) Were added: Already added something or someone, were refers the past.

6) Goes: something which is going on, as let the sentence we must take it as past.

7) Throwing: This is correct word, and also means doing something continuously and thus as per the phases we take this in last tense. [ Same for 2 answer ].

8) Were revived: we're here refers the last and also adding it with a action we get the correct answer.
