POINTS TO BE REMEMBERED :

To + (Verb) [Present form]

Verb starting a sentence (past form) often becomes present continuous tense.

If there are 2 parts in a sentence of past form, they are divided by 'WH words', then first part = Past indefinite. Second part = Past continuous form.

Structure of past indefinite :

Sub. + past form of verb + obj. / Sub. had/was/were + obj.

Structure of past continuous tense :

Sub. + was/were + (Verb + ing) + obj.

Structure of past perfect tense :

Sub. + had + past participle form of verb + obj.
