suicides at the end of the play show that following those that are not even in a position of power without question is dangerous. Brutus says, “Are yet two Romans living such as these? / The last of all the Romans, fare thee well! / It is impossible that ever Rome / should breed thy fellow” (5. 3. 98-101). Cassius sends his servant to survey the battle, but due to misinformation from the servant, Cassius ends in killing himself in shame. In all truth, Cassius and Brutus were on their way to victory, but because Cassius decided to trust the information without evidence, he was led to believe that all was lost.
Also, as Brutus learned of Cassius; suicide, he believed that no matter what, he would not be able to defeat his adversaries. The noble man dies in a way he views as honorable, but is really not necessary. Brutus did not consider that he could possible defeat Antony, and followed the same fate as his dear friend Cassius. The author, Shakespeare, reveals that when one follows another without question, there are dire consequences to face. Being guided by a person who is just a blind as you are and not questioning the legitimacy of this leader can have horrific endings.
