in above reaction  the reagent used is dilute NaOH and heat. and in product  water is produced as a by product.

there are some conditions for aldol reaction,

1. It takes in aldehyde and ketones

2. it react in KOH and NaOH   cataylast.

3. it reaction is happens only when  the alpha and beta hydrogen or carbon is present.
