White blood corpuscles , also called leucocytes because they are colourless.

Types on the basis of nucleus and nature of cytoplasm : -

  • Granulocytes :

- Cytoplamic granules present.

- Multilobed nucleus •°• also called polymorphonuclear WBC

- Produced in bone marrow.

  • Agranulocytes :

- Cytoplasm is clear and agranular .

- No lobes in nucleus •°• also called mononuclear WBC .

- Produced in bone marrow and lymphoid organs .
