The degree of a term is the sum of the exponents of the variables that appear in it.

here first term is 5x so maximum exponent of x is 1

same happens with second term and third term

in fourth term there is no x so exponent of x is 0

As in this given equation in all the terms the maximum exponent attain by x is 1 only

Answer

the degree of the equation should be 1
