Write the description of kharif,Rabi and jayad crops with example.
Rabi Crop:-
- Sown in winter (oct-dec), harvested in summer (april-june).
- some of the Rabi crops are :-Wheat,Barley,peas,gram.
- mainly grown in North , north-eastern parts :- Punjab ,Haryana ,HP,Jammu Kashmir , Uttaranchal , UP.
- monsoon during winter helps in the success of these crops .
- Success of Green revolution has helped in the growth .
Kharif Crop:-
- sown in monsoon (june-july), harvested in (sept-oct).
- some of the Rabi crops are :-paddy,maize,jowar,bajra,tur,moong,urad,cotton,jute, groundnut and Soybean .
- mainly grown in regions of :-Assam,WB,Orissa,AP,TN, Kerala and Maharashtra .
Zaid Crop:-
- Sown in Summer(March,April) harvested in June .
- short season during summer months .
- some of the Zaid crops are :- watermelon, muskmelon, cucumber ,vegetables and fodders.
