Mahendra is a kitten hidden in the backyard in the story of A gift of chappels of honeycomb.

At first sight, Ravi screams when he sees the kitten, "Ooh, don't bring that dirty creature here".

He was having difficulties arranging milk for the cat because Patti was getting quite suspicious.
