In living organism, respiration occurs at two levels as body and cellular level.

Cellular respiration occurs among living organisms by two methods.

Those two methods are aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration.

Aerobic respiration -

Glucose is completely oxidized in three steps :

• Glycolysis
• Krebs cycle
• Electron transfer chain reaction

Anaerobic respiration -

Glucose is incompletely oxidized without the presence of oxygen in two steps :

• Glycolysis
• Fermentation
