True fruits can be described as those fruits which develop from mature and ripened ovary bud do not consist of the thalamus or any other floral part. True fruits form from the ovary of the flower after fertilization.  True fruits can be simple, aggregate or composite. True fruit is also referred to as Eucarp. For eg, Watermelon, Lemon, Cherry, Blueberries, Mangos.

False fruit can be described as fruits which do not develop from the ovary but some adjacent tissues exterior to the carpel. Parts of the plant involved in fruit formation are floral parts such as, base or receptacle, thalamus, calyx, penducle and perianth. False fruit is also referred to as Pseudo fruit or pseudo carp.  For eg, Strawberry, Pineapple, Banana, Apples, Pears.
